Neem oil has long been known as an all-natural low tox, eco-friendly pesticide and anti-fungal agent. Derived from all parts of the Neem tree, the seeds hold the highest concentration of the insecticidal compound Azadirachin. The effectiveness of Neem oil is systemic in many plants when applied to the soil, meaning it is absorbed by the plant and distributed throughout the tissue. Once the oil is in the plant’s vascular system, insects intake it during feeding. The compound causes insects to reduce or cease feeding, can prevent larvae from maturing, reduces or interrupts mating behaviour, and in some cases, the oil coats the breathing holes of insects and kills them.
*When using it as a pesticide ensure you dilute it at 3% ratio to water and wear gloves when applying it. If pregnant or trying to conceive avoid direct skin contact and keep out of reach of children.
